“Lines in Long Array”
08/16/2013
This has been a busy month! As we prepare to have one book go on press, another is delivered. We are very grateful to the National Portrait Gallery for selecting us to design this book of poetry commemorating the Civil War. The first part consists of commissioned works by contemporary poets (Paul Muldoon, Jorie Graham, Tracy K. Smith, Nikki Giovanni…) followed by photographs of Civil War battle locations by Sally Mann. The second part features poems of the late 19th century (Walt Whitman, Herman Melville, Julia Ward Howe, Ambrose Bierce…) followed by Alexander Gardner photographs. It’s titled “Lines in Long Array” and we highly recommend it!
