This redesign of the journal reintroduces the leading publication for the exchange of peer-reviewed textile scholarship in North America.

  • Front cover features a detail from a patterned Mamluk carpet from Cairo, Egypt.
  • Acknowledgments and table of contents pages highlight Richard Markarian, a supporter, and an Indian rug featuring animals.
  • Essay opener has a detail from Byzantine no.3 from the Grammar of Ornament by Owen Johns, showing typical patterns.
  • Essay spread with photographs features four Kyrgyz textiles mostly red and black.
  • Essay spread with photographs of the unique patterning on Lakai embroidered bags. The most prominent is used for tea.
  • Essay spread features the Pope Innocent VIII’s Mamluk carpet Return of the Doge’s ring and a full-page detail of the Doge.
  • References page.
  • Book reviews. Each review is highlighted with a photograph of the book’s cover.
